I had not been on Jackson Publick's (AKA Christopher McCulloch) site Publick Nuisance in a while. I've been a little down on the latest Venture Brothers shows. I was very glad to see this post from November 15, 2009.
"Brock's absence has nothing to do with Patrick Warburton. He didn't ask for more money, he's not too busy for us, he hasn't refused to come back or anything of the sort. It was a creative choice on our part, and Brock WILL be back in the show at some point. Just not this week. Or next."
That was great news.

James Urbaniak in a Bathtub
Found this on YouTube. The voice of Dr. Venture on Adult Swim's "Venture Bros." sits down with comic Sara Benincasa in his kids' bathtub. Magic ensues.
Some of the comments are "Urbaniak is the coolest geek!" and "This is certainly the best interview in a bathtub I've seen all week. Perhaps even all month :)"

Venture Brothers - The Revenge Society
Just when I this this show can't get any fucking stranger . . . I'm starting to worry about the sanity of Doc and Jackson!
It's good to see Phantom Limb back as Revenge! Still wanting to see Brock.
There are some great laughs in this show, which is whats important! I like the fact they brought back the orb and filled in some of the blanks. Can I say that I am really tired of Sergeant Hatred. They show just seems a little empty without Brock. To make the show really work, you need that strong character. Brock was sort of the voice of reason in a crazy household, but Hatred is just another crazy.
Rating for this show 2.5 out of 5!

Venture Brothers - Return to Malice
Does the Venture Brothers get weirder and weirder.
It begins like something big is going down. 21, looking for the killer of 24, kidnaps the Hank and Dean. Sergeant Hatred and Doc go go out to rescue the boy. Doctor Girlfriend seems to be keeping a secret from the The Monarch, who is suffering from something that makes his face look like John Merrick. It typical Venture Brothers fashion, the show ends up in the last way you'd expect.
What we learn: How 21 transformed into the beast he is now and his continuing friendship with 24.
Lots of good laughs in this show. Still no Brock and to be honest, I'm really getting tired of Hatred.
Rating for this show 3.5 out of 5!

Venture Brothers - Perchance to Dean
You've got to hand it to Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer, it would have been easy be like most shows and always end the show where is began. In other words, nothing every changes. (See The Simpsons). Here is season four of the Venture Brothers, we've seen major changed.
I have to admit that when the began with a flashback features Brock's first day as bodygaurd, I was hoping he was going to be featured in the show. But, no, it was just a set up for a mutant Dean.
I got a kick out of the progressive rock stuff but I'm old!
Anyway, I thought it was a good show, many laughs, and continues on the theme of Dean being Doc Ventures son and Hank being Brock's.
Feel free to let me know what you think!

Venture Brothers - Handsome Ransom
I love this episode. This is one of those episodes that is a stand alone show. it doesn’t have anything to do with the main, continuing story line. The first act gets a little creepy with the whole Hank and Captain Sunshine bedtime scene. Of course, this turns out to be a nice joke that I won’t spoil it for you.
I must say I was a little disappointed not to have Brock in the show. I’m still not a fan of Sgt. Hatred . I don’t know why but never found his character very funny. I was glad to see he might be reverting to his old pedophile ways, as weird as that sounds.
The whole episode is a whole weird take on Batman. In fact, Kevin Conroy, the voice of the latest cartoon Batman plays the voice of Captain Sunshine. Hank even asked his if he could introduce hi to Batman. I thought it was hilarious when Captain Sunshine assumed Hank use to be in the circus.
I am not gong to outline the show as you should see it yourself. THe show has The Monarch, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, Pete White and Master Billy Quizboy. Another classic episode!

Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer Interview
Here is an interesting interview with Jackson and Doc about lack of respect for The Venture Brothers.
Written on the same brilliant scale as The Simpsons or South Park and drenched in hip pop culture references, Venture Brothers remains a show with a devoted cult following that stays just off the mass media's radar. And series creators Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer aren't sure why.

Doc and I (mostly Doc, of course) are currently editing the first episode of The Venture Bros. Season 4.1. "Handsome Ransom" is our fortieth episode (not including the pilot and the Christmas special), features the voice of Kevin Conroy, and for continuity purposes will probably air at least second or third. - You can read the rest by clicking the link below.

OK, I love this show as much as anyone but this is just weird. There is being a fan and being obsessed. Although the girl is a bit of a turn on (and that's my own sick fantasy), but look at the guy. This is an adult male! This is from the The Venture Brothers panel at New York Comic Con 2008.

Daily Weekly Venture Brothers Season 3 Review
The 1,283th Time Around, It's Still Hilarious
I've been getting really impatient for the fourth season of [adult swim]'s best show, The Venture Brothers, to come out. Unfortunately, that's not happening until at least October, so in the interim, I've been rewatching all of the previous seasons for— here I go, embarrassing myself publicly again— at least the fourth or fifth time.

Venture Brothers Season 1 Ep. 1
There are so many wonderful moments on this episode. It does a great job of setting up many of the main characters while at the same time having a engaging story.
The characters introduced are Brock, Doc Venture, Hank, Dean, the Monarch and Doctor Girlfriend.
In this episode, Brock plays strip poker with a bunch of Mexicans for a car part, and then later, gets buried in the desert. Meanwhile, Doc’s kidneys, yes both, are stolen after trying to purchase a large amount of drugs from a Tijuana doctor. The boys get kidnapped by the Monarch, who decides to be a father figure to them. There is ever a quick glimpse of Doc’s twin bother. We learn the origins on the Monarch’s fascination with those butterflies. On top of all that, H.E.L.P.eR. gets a Mexican makeover.
This the perfect start to one of the greatest cartoon’s of all time. It still laugh to this day are the henchmen are forced to shoot Speedy, who is stuck on Brock’s choking hand, and one says, “That sucked”. One of my favorite lines in when Brock, with his eyes twitching, says, “They hit me with a truck.” and then after the violence, Hanks talks about the Monarch by saying, “He was going all crazy uncle on us”
This episode is a fantastic start to the series.

Venture Brothers Season 3 DVD - Finally
Finally purchased the DVD set over the weekend. I know, what's a fan like me waiting so long. Shouldn't have I been waiting at Best Buy the day it went on sale? YES! But as it goes, I was a little short on cash lately but now I've got it.
I few disappointments. First is the forgotten bonus intro to Family That Slays Together. I knew about this already, but it still sucks that they forgot it.
2nd disappointment - It is sort of lacking in the extras department. There is commentary on every episode and outtakes, but that is all the extras included.
On the plus side! Uncensored! I mean uncensored. Nudity, swearing, it's all there! Very surprising. I'll review each show one by one in the future.

Now Museum, Now You Don't - EP 34
One of the highlights of Venture Brothers Season three, Now Museum, Now You Don't is about Dr. Jonas Venture Jr. turning Spider Skull Island into a museum dedicated to the father he never new.
The episode begins with a flashback to an original Venture Team adventure, with Jonas pretending to be Asian by pulling his eyes back and ends with one of the best jokes in recent memory. Along the way the Impossibles and the breakup of their marriage is featured.
I only bring this up because it is on On-Demand right now and I am watching it!

There's no getting around the fact that fans of "The Venture Bros." are a brutal, relentless and often rabid pack of animals. But they're not all bad – without question, the hit Adult Swim series has an incredibly dedicated following as evidenced by the entirely filled-out panel at New York Comic Con. The fans were out in full force to talk about Brock and the brothers with creators/writers Jackson Publick (Hank Venture) and Doc Hammer (Dr. Girlfriend). Also joining them was surprise guest Michael Sinterniklaas (Dean Venture).

Venture Brothers, My First Time
I often regret not beginning watching the Venture Brothers from that start.
One day I was just looking through On-Demand on my cable. I thought I'd look to see if there was a Robot Chicken I had not seen before. Love Robot Chicken! I was a show called Venture Brothers, so I decided to give it a try. Before the first break, I knew I had found a great cartoon. Sad part is, I don't even know which show it was. I do know it was somewhere in the middle of the first season, since there was not second season hadn't begun yet. It might have been Mid-Life Chrysalis, but I'm not sure.
I do remember it was in the morning and as soon as my wife woke, I made her watch it. She is now a fan as well.
I never saw the very first episode until I bought the season one DVD. By then I has been most of the other shows, but out of order. I wish I would have seen them from the start in order to get the full impact.
Sorry about my rambling. I guess I'm just getting ready for season 4!

Venture Brothers on Ebay
Just for a lark, I went over to ebay to see what Venture Brothers stuff they have. You can get mouse pads for $2.95 and various deals on T-shirts.
One this I found was Action figures. While I didn't see the main members, they did have figures for the following Characters. The Torrid, Catclops, Jefferson Twilight, Monarch, Dean as Magnum P.I., Steve Summers, Sasquatch and more.
There is also some James Urbaniak autograph stuff as well.
I just want to add, I don't sell on ebay nor do I know anyone who is selling this stuff. I just was looking for myself and thought I share what I found.

Venture Brothers Episodes 30 & 31
Buddy System and Dr. Quymn
Right now on On Demand, two episodes of the Venture Brothers are now available. The first it number 31, The Buddy System. This might go down as one of the best shows of season three. While not as great at the Yard Sale from Season one, it's very close.
In this show, Doc Venture holds a day camp to make money. to do so, he has all his friends help out while the Monarch uses the Murderous Moppets to keep on eye on things.
The second show available is 31, Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman. While in the jungle stealing a fertility idol from the natives, he is saved my a woman who might be his half sister called Dr. Quymn, who has twin girls of her own. Another great show!
Waiting now for season three to come out a DVD and Season 4 to begin.

The People's Republic of Venture Contest
On this Venture Bothers site, they are having a photo caption contest. Winner gets a lovely Order of the Triad lapel pin. It is approximately 1"H x 1.25"W.
Here is a bit about it from the website:
All you have to do it write a funny, interesting, thought provoking, stupid, incredibly boring or whatever caption for the provided image.
Everyone who submits a caption will then have their name go into a drawing and one winner will be chosen. That's right, it's as arbitrary and random as we can make it.
